 Udaipur, a city in Rajasthan, is steeped in tradition and has a rich history. Udaipur used to be the capital of the Mewar dynasty, and the town was established by Maharana Uday Singh II in 1559. The city has earned many epithets to its credit like the ‘Venice of the East, and ‘Lake City, but its most prominent nickname is ‘The City of Palaces.’ The city is well-known throughout the world for its lakes. Its palaces mainly were built during the Rajput era. Where it is located Udaipur is situated in Southern Rajasthan and is located at 1,962 ft above sea level.
